Build Africa
Build Africa is a charity based in Tunbridge Wells working to create opportunities for young people in Africa to make a sustainable living. Build Africa is about building foundations through education and enterprise from which the young people we work with can grow and build their futures. Young people need and want an education so they can get a decent job and earn a decent wage. At the moment in parts of Kenya and Uganda, they are simply not getting it. This means most will continue to live in poverty. We want to change this.
What do we do? We are realistic. We might not be able to help the whole world but we think we can change the future for thousands of young people. We do this by building schools and providing the necessary equipment children need to learn, like desks, blackboards and textbooks. We also form school committees to ensure the local community has pride in and ownership of the school. We also build businesses by offering training, loans and helping with access to markets which is all geared towards making young people’s businesses more productive. We also build farms so young people can grow their own food and sell surplus at market. For more information or to support our work, please contact us. |
